About the role

We're El Chinchorou a small, owner-operated food business at the Ale & Cider House Food Yard in West Linn. We serve premium sausage sandwiches and we're growing. We need someone to join us in the kitchen and at the window while we focus on expanding the business.

This is a great fit for someone with a passion for food who wants hands-on experience running a real food operation not just cooking. You'll be trained directly by the owners, supported throughout, and trusted with real work from day one. As we grow, so does the team. Culinary students are especially encouraged to apply.

What you'll learn

We don't just hand you an apron and walk away. You'll be trained directly by the owners and learn how a food business actually runs from the kitchen to the customer.

Food preparation and consistency
How to cook, build, and plate to spec the same way, every time.
POS and cash operations
Toast POS, transaction management, and keeping a smooth front-of-house flow.
Food safety and compliance
Oregon food handler standards, temp logging, sanitation done right, every shift.
How a food operation runs
Inventory, pars, open and close procedures the behind-the-scenes of a real food business.

Day to day

What the job looks like.

Cook and assemble menu items
Work the flat-top, cook sausages, build sandwiches and plates to spec. Prep is done before your shift you focus on execution.

Take orders and handle payments
Greet guests, take orders on Toast POS, process payments. Keep the line moving and the experience friendly.

Open and close the trailer
Your shift starts at 3:30 PM and ends at 8:30 PM. The first and last 30 minutes are for setup and breakdown. Clear checklist, no guesswork. We'll walk you through it until it's second nature.

Keep the station stocked and clean
Restock mid-shift, flag what's running low. A clean, organized station makes everything easier.

Uphold food safety standards
Temps, sanitation, personal hygiene we take this seriously and we'll make sure you're fully trained on all of it.

Required
Oregon Food Handler CardMust be obtained before your first shift. We cover the cost if you don't have one yet.

Dependable and punctualGuests are counting on us being open. We're counting on you showing up.

Comfortable with basic mathHandling transactions and making change with confidence.

Above Portland metro minimum. Starts your first day.
Tips
